If money weren’t an issue we could have the most luxurious carpet, the most spectacular tile and the most beautiful hardwood. However, for most of us, budget is a very real issue when it comes to our homes. How can we update things or install floor in a new house without breaking the bank? We’ve got some economical floor choices for you to consider that are good looking to the eye and the wallet.
Wood floors that fit your budget
You might think wood floors aren’t feasible when you are on a budget. Think again. While you will likely need to stay away from exotic hardwoods, laminate wood floors can be just what you are looking for. They offer the look and feel of wood but at a lower price point. Laminate floors come in such a wide variety of styles, shades and colors that you shouldn’t have any problem finding just what you’re looking for. Be aware, however, not all laminate floors belong on the budget list, so be sure to do your research and shop at a reputable flooring store to see the best variety of options.
Tile floors that fit your budget
Ceramic tile is still the gold standard when it comes to economical tile floors. Ceramic is an excellent floor choice because for the money you receive a very durable and easy to maintain floor for years. Stay with solid colors and conventional sizes to see the biggest cost savings. You might also ask about smaller size tile which can open up more design choices at a similar cost.
The old stand-by: carpet
It’s hard to beat wall-to-wall carpet when you are on a budget. Carpet brings a host of benefits to any home and, thanks to today’s manufacturers, it also brings a lot of choices. Carpet comes in a wide variety of colors, patterns and textures. You can make a big impact with a small budget by picking the right carpet.
