Meet our rug cleaning & repair expert: Mike Bragg

Mike has completed specialized training in the cleaning and repair of area rugs. He spends his days cleaning, restoring and repairing rugs of all sizes and materials. Whether it’s replacing fringe by hand or spot dying rugs to cover worn areas, he’s got his hands full.

His advice for your rug? All area rugs should be cleaned regularly. Certainly older, handmade rugs that are treated more like works of art but even more modern, machine-made rugs will last longer if they are professionally cleaned every 1-3 years. Over time, dirt builds up in the rug and can rub irreversible traffic patterns – you can literally walk the color out of your rug if you don’t remove the dirt regularly.

Mike has been with Kermans since 2011. He enjoys the people he works with and the chance to meet new people. “It’s nice having a job where I’m not cooped up in an office all day. I like meeting new people and helping them.” When he’s not working you’ll find Mike enjoying music or cheering on his favorite sports team, the Indiana Hoosiers.
