A history of carpeting Central Indiana
Published: May 17, 2012
Kermans Flooring is a proud family business that has served Indianapolis and surrounding areas since 1921. Kermans was founded by Robert J. Benjamin. He made his way to the United States at the age of 16, with no money or knowledge of the English language, but full of ambition to become a successful American businessman. He started Kermans Oriental Rug Company the same year he was married and by the 1960s, Benjamin’s three sons could be found working in the family business. They expanded to become a complete floor covering business and one of the premier flooring stores in the state of Indiana.
Kermans was founded on a belief of offering quality flooring with strong customer service. These values are still in practice today with the third generation of the Benjamin family at the helm.
It’s a great business story. But what does it mean to you? It means that when you shop at Kermans you will receive
- Quality products offered at a reasonable price.
- Carpet, hardwood, tile and area rugs that are created with interior design in mind. Our showroom features exclusive names, including Ralph Lauren, Fabrica, Masland and Armstrong because we believe Central Indiana deserves a wide selection of flooring.
- The only place in Indiana where you can buy the entire Karastan offering of rugs and carpets.
- Design consultants who listen and help you put together everything needed to make the best flooring decisions.
Whether you’re flooring a mansion, or looking to carpet your first home, you’ll experience the same high level of service at Kermans. We have been in business for over 90 years for one reason – because we offer good products and good prices.
